I decided to skip the blackboard and do some fun stuff with pictures. I think this is different and definitely takes less time.
The babe is the size of a navel orange!
Total weight gain/loss: I’m not sure… We’ll get the official added poundage from the doc next week.
Maternity clothes? Nothing new since the maternity leggings.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: I’ve been waking up comfortably nuzzled in my body pillow laying on my back. Would have been awesome when I was training myself to sleep on my back. Let’s hope I can get myself to the left side and stay there!
Best moment this week: I feel great. No nausea or exhaustion.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Still missing the wine 😦
Movement: I thought I felt some flutters a few days ago…but maybe it’s too soon. I don’t know.
Food cravings: No pregnancy cravings…just the regular cheese craving.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Chicken still turns me off so I’m still staying away.
Have you started to show yet: Looks like I am! *Note..this picture was taken in the evening so there’s definitely some food baby in there as well.
Gender prediction: No clue…trying not to lean one way or the other…but I def can’t wait to find out!!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? All the way in.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Very happy! But am like a firecracker and if I get pissed off, it’s very easy to tell. I’m not sure that’s any different from normal.
Looking forward to: Finding out if it’s a boy or a girl and making plans on decorating the nursery (in the home that we don’t own yet!).
This post will be short and sweet because I really need to go shower and get ready for the big day of eating.
I made this delicious goodness as my contribution to both of the dinners we will be going to today. One is for Nick’s side of the family and the other is for mine…I’m still trying to get my Russian family to fall in love with sweet potato dishes. We’ll see what they think about it this year. All I have to say is this dish smells absolutely delish!
Here are the steps that I took…first peel, coarsely chop and boil the potatoes.
Then make the butter, bourbon and brown sugar mixture. (Looks like I forgot to take a pic of this step…ooopsies)
After you mash the potatoes with the sweet, alcoholic butter mixture, layer the mashed potatoes with the chopped pecans. Repeat once more.
And viola! You’re done! Yay!
Here’s the recipe if you decide to save this one for next year…or just a random dinner.
Enjoy your day and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!
Shower time 🙂
Due to my Pinterest obsession, I have seen a bunch of cute ideas for tracking pregnancies. My fave by far are the chalkboard girls (here and here) with cute weekly updates. Even before I was pregnant, I knew that I wanted to do the same thing. Well…today I’m officially 14 weeks preggo, and still no cute chalkboard to speak of. I guess I’ve been procrastinating (thing I do best) because I haven’t really started showing yet. Maybe a drop. But I still insist it’s my breakfast, lunch or dinner poking through. So anyway, I promise myself to find a chalkboard and start taking pictures by Week 15.
Until then….the babe is now the size of a lemon!
How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:
About 5 pounds…give or give. Maybe 6. I think I’m still in weight gain denial.
I got 3 pairs of maternity leggings and I’m in love!
Nope…I’ve been using regular body lotion but just put an order in for Mustella
. I hear it’s the best!
I’m a stomach sleeper…bad news for a pregnant chick. So I got a great pillow
based on a friend’s advice, and am loving it! I told the hubs that I may keep after this whole thing is over. He was not amused since it takes up half of the bed!
Best moment this week:
Not feeling any ‘evening’ sickness finally.
Have you told family and friends:
Yesss…and we did it in a such a cute way for the fam.
Yes…wine. Now that I’m feeling better, I do wish I could have a glass or 2 after work or with dinner.
Not yet but I can’t wait for it to start!
Anything making you queasy or sick:
Have you started to show yet:
I don’t think so because I think it’s a food baby in me, but Nick thinks I started to show.
No clue…I think maybe a girl and Nick is already looking up boy names 🙂
Belly Button in or out?
All the way in.
Wedding rings on or off?
Happy or Moody most of the time:
Very happy, but tired towards the evenings, so I can get a little cranky here and there. And I never feel like cooking.
Looking forward to: Finding out if it’s a boy or a girl!
It has literally been almost 2 months since I have posted on my blog. I bounced back and forth about whether or not I want to continue writing it. I currently follow a handful of blogs that I’m obsessed with and feel like I could never be on their level…but at the same time, this is such a great way of keeping a record… and not just of the things I cook, but of my life. So going forward, (I act like I’ve been doing this for years…hahaha!) this will be more of a public diary of life.
So? “What’s the surprise?” you’re asking. Well…..here’s a little peek……
Nick and I are going to be parents in May of 2013 and we’re so excited about it!!!!
Meet our little plum! 🙂
Baby R is almost 13 weeks old in my belly now and is almost 3 inches long! Which means I’m not quite showing yet, I just look like I’m full all of the time!!
I can’t wait to start bogging again and documenting the growth of my bump along with all of the other things going on in between. So stay tuned… 🙂
